Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipation Summit
About the GESDA Summit
Every year in Geneva, under the vision of “Using the future to build the present”, the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipation Summit (GESDA) brings together hundreds of high-level representatives from research, government, diplomacy, industry, philanthropy and civil society to explore ways to make the most of the benefits of emerging science and technology while tackling the challenges that come with them.
At the Summit, participants discover the yearly published Science Breakthrough Radar®. This document assesses the impact and momentum of future scientific advances along the timeframes relevant to GESDA, i.e. 5, 10, and 25 years, and across four platforms: 1. Advanced AI and Quantum Revolution; 2. Human Augmentation; 3. Eco-regeneration and Geoengineering; 4. Science and Diplomacy. It provides an easy-to-read mapping of scientific breakthroughs and their potential impact on people, society and the planet.
Participants also engage in interactive sessions, workshops, discussions, and connect with leading figures. Together, they drive reflective, responsible, inclusive and sustainable collaboration, bringing anticipation-based Science & Diplomacy to the fore. The result is an effort to safeguard our collective welfare and make the most, for all on the planet, of where knowledge takes us.
