Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator

Current open positions:

Director Strategic Partnerships

The Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA),  a Swiss foundation and private-public partnership, was created in 2019 by the Federal Government and the Canton of Geneva to serve as an anticipatory science and diplomacy tool for greater impact and multilateral effectiveness. It has produced two major accomplishments so far: the GESDA Science Breakthrough Radar and the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipation Summit. GESDA serves as an honest broker of science-backed information, remaining neutral and objective as it gathers ideas through broad consultations. Originally created for a pilot duration of 3 years, the Swiss and Geneva governments recently decided to extend the existence GESDA for a period of 10 years (September 2022 – September 2032).

In order to enhance the global reach and impact during its scale up phase, GESDA currently is recruiting a new Director Strategic Partnerships. Tasks include the identification, definition and management of key strategic partnerships at global level and the respective close collaboration with GESDAs President of the Board, Secretary General of the Board and Chairs of the Academic, Diplomatic as well as Impact Forum.

We are looking for a senior expert with extensive experience in managing high-level political and strategic collaborations with key international institutions of the diplomatic, academic and private sector. A strong network within International Geneva and a deep understanding of the global development context are a must.

To underline GESDAs global ambition and diversity aspirations, the ideal candidate is of Asian, African or Latin American origin. Proficiency in English is a must, ideally combined with advanced language skills in French and Spanish.

As a multilateral start up, we are offering as of September 2022 (or according to agreement) the opportunity to join an ambitious and dynamic team in an international environment working on cutting edge issues of human development.  Place of work is Geneva with flexibility and willingness to international travel.
